Our History

Our History – Judd, Holdaway and Associates with its staff has been providing professional accounting services for over 40 years to the Uintah Basin. Steven J. Judd Sr., CPA along with Jim Drollinger, CPA founded the firm under the name, "Drollinger and Judd" in 1979 and operated for over 30 years until Jim Drollinger retired. In 2016, Steven J. Judd Sr. along with his partners Isaac R. Holdaway and Steven J. Judd Jr. founded Judd, Holdaway and Associates to continue the same great service. Robert W. Nielson, CPA

Isaac R. Holdaway, CPA

Professional and Life Experience

Isaac began his career in accounting in 2007 and learned to love helping clients with their tax and accounting needs. Over the years he has become specialized in individual, Corporate, Partnership and Trust Taxation. He is a member of the American institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA) and has served as President of the local UACPA Uintah Basin Chapter.

Melinda King

Education

B.S., Accounting and Finance with a minor in Economics from Utah State University.

Professional and Life Experience

I have worked in Public Accounting for 32 years. I specialize in Compilations and review of business Financial Statements.

Graduated from the University of Utah in 1977. After graduation he moved to Vernal, Utah to begin working for Jim Drollinger. He has been helping the residents of the Basin keep track of their money for over 42 years and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and also the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA).

He Loves spending time with his family - especially his grandchildren who affectionately call him "Papa".

Nicole Jones

Nicole Jones was born and raised in Vernal, Utah. After graduating high school, she lived in Cedar City, Utah for four years while obtaining her Associates in General Studies and a bachelor's degree in accounting. While attending Southern Utah University, she played on the women's golf team. She has since moved back to the Uintah Basin and has been able to obtain her master's degree of Accountancy degree from Southern Utah. She enjoys hikes with her husband, Kyler and her bulldog, Daisy. Nicole is a staff accountant at Judd, Holdaway & Associates.

Dakota J. King

Dakota King was born and raised in Vernal, Utah. After serving an LDS mission, he and his wife moved to Logan to go to school at Utah State University where he obtained a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Accounting within three years. Dakota was anxious to move back to Vernal where he started his career in Public Accounting at Judd, Holdaway & Associates in 2019. Dakota has accounting experience in various fields including: manufacturing, Taxation of Business and Individuals, Payroll Taxes, Financial Statement Compilations, and QuickBooks. He is an aspiring Certified Public Accountant. Hobbies include: Golfing, Fishing, Softball, Snowboarding, Boating and most importantly - spending time with his Wife and kids.

Shian Holdaway

Shian Holdaway graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. She is a QuickBooks consultant and is certified in QuickBooks Online and all versions of QuickBooks desktop. Shian has over five years of QuickBooks experience and is excited to help clients with their QuickBooks needs.

Holli H. Judd

Accounting Technician

Holli has been employed for several years by businesses in our community, helping with their accounting/office functions. Recently the CPA firm hired Holli to utilize the skills she has acquired over these years of service. Holli's skill set includes QuickBooks consulting, Data Entry, Payroll services, Payroll tax deposit services and support for the firms tax & accounting services.
